Published: 1 January 2025
Following reports from the villages of Broadwell and Langford of an overnight crime spree with incidents ranging from theft, attempted theft and burglary, involving tools, vehicles and property.
Thames Valley Police have issues the below advice:
1. Car keys – where possible please keep them in a metal box in the central part of the house, or use a specific faraday pouch easily available online.
2. Tools and equipment – this is by far the most common issue with items being left in vans overnight, remove any expensive equipment.
3. Any outhouse buildings such as sheds and workshops should be properly locked and secured, ideally some internal and external CCTV which can be monitored via a mobile.
We are happy to offer security advice for any property, while we cannot recommend any specific brands we can advise on what would be suitable.
