We invite you and your fellow parishioners to the second public PFAS Awareness meeting on Friday 12th June at 7.30pm in Upper Heyford Village Hall.
Our aim is to provide up to date, accurate information which is truth based regarding the potential/ probable contamination of the air bases with forever chemicals (PFAS).
The meeting is a space for local people to ask questions and explore the next steps we want to take as a community following the recent PFAS test results which were funded by local residents.
Since the last meeting these are the actions we have taken:
1. Set up a fundraising campaign for a resident-led, local PFAS testing budget
2. Completed testing at a stream near Harris Road
3. Received the results of testing (see attached doc Gallos brook sample 1)
4. Met with Callum Miller MP (he raised PFAS concerns in PMQs 20/5/26) and the PM assured the House that it would be investigated
5. Put in several FOI requests and we are intending to publish the freedom of information requests we’ve put in to Cherwell District Council, Thames Water and The Environment Agency so that you can see what we have done thus far and so we don’t all duplicate the same information. We are yet to hear back from any of them.
6. Written four times to Cherwell District Council asking for support and help with the situation
7. Carried on with our research including contact with many local residents and PFAS specialists
